This hare is a work in progress. I will often work on several different projects at any one time.
What began as a hobby has quickly developed into a passion. I have been working with clay for the last four years and my subjects have always been animals. Each piece is totally unique - I do not rely on moulds for any aspect of my work - and this I feel reflects the individuality which I observe in the animals around me. I use a lot of texturing in my pieces and rely on oxides to give me the earthy colours I favour in my work.
My husband and I are fortunate enough to live in the beautiful North Down countryside of Northern Ireland. The landscape and the animals which inhabit it are a constant source of inspiration. We have regular wildlife visitors to our garden which are a constant joy. The surrounding farmland is inhabited from Spring through to late Autumn by our closest neighbours - cattle, sheep and horses!
Dogs, dogs and more dogs.
No matter how unusual!
Further information and contact details are below. I do hope you have enjoyed looking at some of the photos of my work.
